When numbing patients, we have a special technique that reduces injection pain. When you’re getting a shot to make you numb, the needle will pinch, but it’s really the burn of the anesthesia that really hurts. At Morton Ranch Dental, we use a numbing cream before the injection. Then we administer an anesthetic called Citanest Plain, which is significantly less acidic – therefore significantly less painful. Once the area is numb, we administer the stronger acidic anesthesia to fully numb your tooth, but at this point you don’t feel any pain since the area has been knocked out! This process takes longer, but it is much more comfortable for the patient. This is a proprietary service that we have at Morton Ranch Dental that makes your experience that much better.
